Beyond Blessed

So I have done my catch up posts (with lots of adoreable kiddo pics) and now I wanna dedicate a post to the man I love. I was blown away in Vegas when he proposed because looking back at this time last year I would never have believed that the Lord would bless me in so many ways. I have grown so much since my divorce and I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that we have to go through trials and tribulations so that we can appreciate the good things when they finally come (and they DO come) I couldnt imagine that I would be so blessed to have someone like Derek in my life much less someone who I get to spend the rest of my life with. He has given me so much joy and I NOW know what it means to be LOVED (by someone other than your parents obviously) He is kind, smart, loyal, loving, funny (not at someone elses expense which is important), respectful but most of all he loves me AND Daley with his whole heart. He told me from the beginning that he had a lot of love to give and I believe him. He has shown me more respect, grace and love than any other man I have known in my life and I know that it was no mistake that he showed up in my life when I least expected it. You know how they say "the Lord works in mysterious ways" well Amen to that. I could bore you with lots of details about things in our lives that have come to be at just the right time but I wont.....just know he is the one for me and I know he is a blessing from God!!!

A Trip to Remember

Ok so in late November Derek and I went to Vegas for a friends 30th birthday! I had never been to Vegas before and was soooooo excited. Needless to say this was a trip I will NEVER forget. We arrived early morning and for some reason the stress of the trip was taking its toll on Derek ;) We went and checked into our super chic hotel (I highly reccommend the Cosmopolitan.....it was awesome) and when we stepped into our suite I was shocked!!! Not only did we have a really awesome contemporary suite this was our VIEW!!!

So after we unloaded our bags we headed back to the airport to pick up the birthday boy and his wife. We went to eat at the Hard Rock for lunch....dropped at little money into some slot machines and drove around so I could see the strip! It was a great first afternoon. After a trip to the liquor store for some champagne we went back to the hotel and got ready for the evening. We had dinner reservations at Sinatra @ Encore. After I peeled myself out of the GINORMOUS Japanese soaking tub (seriously our tub had seats yall) we went outside (yes with wet hair in my robe) to watch the Bellagio fountain show at night!

Well the next thing that I knew Derek was down on his knee proposing......I had only had a glass or two of champage BUT everything got a little fuzzy from there. I am not exactly sure what he said because I was in complete and total shock. I remember saying "Shut the front door....this is not happening!!!" and then of course through lots of tears I said YES!!!!! I made him promise me we would take anymore pictures til I was out of my robe and looked presentable. I was very proud of the make-up job I pulled off seeing as how my hands were shaking!!!

Needless to say the ring was the focus of most pictures for the rest of the trip. We were (and still are) over the moon happy!

I cant believe this girl is already 4yrs old and like always she had the girliest birthday party you could imagine!!!

I am not a fan

Of Halloween.....like at ALL! I think it is just a excuse for cable networks to show scary movies (which I also despise BTW) and also a lame excuse for grown women to go to parties and dress like sluts. Sorry middle aged mom but the last time I was in the hospital or at the drs office my nurse didnt look like this:

Dontcha think that would be a health hazard? but I digress

Ok so I am not totally into the Halloween thing but I will admit that CHILDREN dressed up at Halloween is pretty darn cute. I mean Exhibit A:

cutest baby deer and strawberry shortcake I have ever seen!!!

AND thanks to my I-Am-Pretty-Much-Up-For-Anything better half we also had a pretty rockin pumpkin to boot :)
