Well this weekend was jam packed with events for the Smythe family. Saturday morning Daley and I took a road trip to Arlington for Janay's wedding shower. Daley was a good little traveler(mommy was a little nervous...this was our first road tip, just she and I)!!!! We left Wichita Falls at 9am (which was perfect timing for her morning nap) and she she slept almost the entire way there. The shower was really really nice and it looked like Janay got some really cool stuff. Hard to believe that is has been almost 3years that I had a wedding shower just like this. The trip home from Arlington was great as well. Daley slept pretty good but then decided she wanted to play this cool game called "Make Mommy Crazy" LOL just kidding it was really cute cause she would yell "mama" and then I would yell "Daley" and then she said "mama" and we went back and forth FORever. I was a little irritated after 30mins or so but she seemed amused and so I played along. Hey whatever it takes to keep her happy in the car is fine with me:) Saturday night my mom, Bubba, Kelli, Atlee and the Whatley kiddos (mom and Bubba were babysitting) came over for a little family time. We ordered pizza and had ice cream and let the kids play outside. The weather was really really nice and the grown ups had a lot of fun enjoying a few adult beverages (and ice cream too). Sunday morning Daddy woke up and mowed the yard, we went to lunch at Daddys fave restaurant & then Daley and I went to Tara's baby shower. After the shower we picked up Daddy and went on to Chase Brumley's first birthday party. Chase's birthday was so much fun for Daley because that was the first time she had been around that many kiddos that were her age. It was funny cause when we got there we sat her on the ground with all of the kids and she just sat there stunned. It took her a few minutes to soak it all in, BUT before you know it she was right in the middle of the action playing and having a ball!!!! It was so much fun watching her. Of course mommy and daddy were very proud because we got lots and lots of compliments of how pretty she was. We are so proud of our little girl!!!! We think she is gorgeous but of course we are a little biased, so it is nice to hear it reinforced from other people. This was a long long long weekend and needless to say Daley was tired when we finally got home on Sunday evening. So tired (and snotty) in fact that we skipped bathtime and went straight to bed at 6:45 (we skipped one of our naps to party). Well I had been fighting a cold all weekend and on Monday morning the exhaustion and sickness had set in on both Daley and I. I felt like I had been hit by a truck!!!! Mommy stayed home from work on Monday. We wiped snot from our noses and rested all day long. I thought that cold season was over.....guess not.

1. Flip Flops - (Much to my husbands disapproval) I am a flip flop junkie. I cant have too many pairs. I love flip flops. I have 2 fave brands. #1 Reef. These are super duper comfy and so sqwooshy. I have been a reef fan for about 4 yrs. I got my first pair at Ross the summer they opened here in WF (for cheeeep) and have been a fan ever since. Each yr around April my mom and I start scoping out Ross for Reef bargains. So ladies keep your eyes peeled cause sometimes you can buy the exact same shoe at Ross for 1/2 the price than at a department store. Ross usually has some really fun colors too. My #2 fave brand is Havianas. I bought my first pair last yr in Oklahoma City (because you cant buy them in Wichita Falls but you can buy online) and trust me folks you will fall in love too. I like them because they are soft & comfy but not spongy(like most of my Reefs are). By not-spongy I mean they are waterproof. This is important to me when I am workin outside, washing my car, or getting out of the pool!!! I just pop these babies on and never have to worry about "soppy soles" (as I call them). 
3. Aviator Sunglasses - ok so I bought my first pair of (big) aviator a few weeks ago and I love them. I think they are super cute and comfy to wear. I love my sunglasses as much as I love my flip flops. I think right now I have 5 or 6 pairs. Of course they are all very in-expensive cause I lose them all the time but never the less all super chic. BUT my fave pair at the moment are my aviators. Where did I get these cuties? The Dollar Store!!! YEP you read right....they were $5.95. best money I have spent in a long time. 
4. Gardening/Planting - My fave part of being a homeowner is spending Sundays during the Spring & Summer in the yard. My husband has an amazing knack for yard work and working side by side with him is so much fun. I love to plant & maintain all things green so in honor of Earth Day I had to mention my love for planting. I enjoy being outside with my dear family and love making my house beautiful. 
5. Bud Light Lime - What goes better with a day in the sun than a nice cold brew?!?! Ok so Bud Light came out with this clever product last yr when I was prego SOOOO obviously I didnt try it. Well a few weeks ago I was at my in-laws for a visit and they had some. I tried it and WOWSA!!!! De-lish :) I am a "Fruiter" as my husband calls it. By that he means I add fruit (lime) to my regular beer....SO one that already has it!!!! BONUS!?!?! Can you tell I am excited about this find? Ok so I have a tiny confession to make. Last sunday Jabin bought me a six pack of this frosty beverage (for our yardwork/cookout) and I drank 5 all by myself. Uh Yeah....I like em. I am not a big drinker (at all) so I really must be a fan. I do need to watch myself. This could get dangerous. HAHA
6. Baby Sunscreen - This is for sure on my list of things to stock up on for summa!!! So last summer my baby was teenie. And even though I was miserable stuck inside I knew she was too little for the sun or the pool. BUT NOT THIS YR! I am sooooo looking forward to takin her to the pool. We have 2 cutie suits AND even though my daughter was blessed with a God given tan I still need to protect her from getting burned. I have no idea what brand to get! Any suggestions moms?!?!
7. Bar - B - Q's - Ok so forgive the corny picture but I love me some cookouts. It involves food, drinks, & friends. Nuff said
8. IPod Touch - Ok so where would summer be without tunes? Itunes happen to be my choice! The Smythe family IPod is loaded with all our faves and is always on the docking station outside turned WAY UP!!!! I sure hope our neigbors like Randy Rogers Band ;)
9. Pretty Painted TOES - Ok so you couldnt tell by looking today but I am a pedicure kinda girl! Even though I dont usually splurge for a professional one (cause I am super tickle-ish) I love pretty painted toes. I have polish in a million different colors and I change them a lot during the summer. My fave thing to do on a Friday night (when Jabin is working late) is get out my pedi foot spa and give myself a pedicure. To me that is pamering. AND considering all those flip flops I wear my toes gotta look pretty!
10. 4th of July - I love fireworks displays!!! Not to be confused with loving fireworks in general cause I dont. They actually scare me. BUT when someone else plays with those dangerous lil explosions of fire I am mesmerized!!!! Last yr because of the country club golf course renevation our tradition was cancelled. So I am really looking forward to celebrating with family this yr. And of course I am sure Daley will be all decked out in her red white and blue (bow included).
11. Sundresses - Ok so because I have fat knees & thick thighs I am not really a short-wearin kind of girl but I do love me some sundresses. I am hoping to add a few new ones to my summer collection and in case you are in the market for a bargain Old Navy and WalMart (online) are great places to look. I dont know what it is about sundresses but they make me feel young & very feminine. Not to mention they are super comfy and cool :)
12. Ft Worth Zoo - In additon to celebrating Daley 1st birthday in early June we are planning a trip to the Ft Worth Zoo while we are in town for Janay's (Jabins sis) wedding. I have never been to this zoo and am looking forward to Daley getting to see all of the animals. 
13.Tahiti Sweetie (Bath & Body Works) - as mentioned in my fave beauty products post this is a must have for summer. My skin gets super duper parched during the summer months from the heat and sun and this stuff is A-mazing. Just lather it on your body and your skin will feel soft and smooth. Not to mention it smells like heaven.
14. Poolside - this is where you will find me lots of weekends. (Even though my grandmas pool doesnt look quite like this) I love to lay out and swim in a nice clean, cool, can-see-the-bottom-no-fish-nibblin-my-toes-pool. That is my idea of relaxation! 
2. Jergans Original Scent Lotion AND Loreal Sublime Glow - These products are good seperately but they are better together. So before I discovered this neat little trick I was using both seperatly. When I used the Loreal Sublime Glow Self Tanner I noticed that I was getting "orange" in weird places (and yes I was exfoliating prior to use) well I had all but given up on being tan when one night after my bath I was in a little bit of a hurry (Greys was coming on) and I needed to moisturize when I had a brilliant idea. Mix the TWO!!!! So I did and the outcome has been great. No more orange spots and you dont have to wait quite as long before putting your clothes on! Both of these products are available at drugstores, WalMart & Target
6. Maybelline Expertwear Duo Eye Shadow (Irish Mist) - The darker color of green is what I usually apply in the crease of my eye to bring out my green/hazel eye color. I use this a lot cause it seems to look good with everything. Both colors are great but the darker one gets used the most. I use them together when I want a dramatic green eye. 
7. Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Xtreme Wear - This is by far (in my opinion) the best nail polish for pedicures. If you are like me and love to have pretty colors on your toes that last and last this is the polish for you. I have a number of colors and I love them all!!!! You can buy this at any drugstore, WalMart or Target. 1-2 coats and you are good to go. This stuff wont chip OR peel off. I love it :) BTW I think this is the next color I am gonna buy (purple potion)
8. Loreal Endless Lipcolor - To me this is one of my fave long lasting lipcolors. Why? It doesnt dry out my lips!!! I hate to reapply lipstick but I also hate that dry chalky feeling. I dont get that feeling with this lipstick. They come in lots of pretty colors a few of my fave are 'Mauve Crystal' & 'Reflective Sands'.
9. Bath & Body Works Tahiti Sweetie Lotion - This is my fave summertime lotion by far. As a matter of fact I dont even know if they sell this lotion year round BUT I highly suggest you try it this summer. It smells delicious. Honestly you will wanna eat it (but dont). The lotion contains Monoi Oil and is perfect after those long days in the sun and heat. If refreshes and cools your skin and puts you in the mood for a pina colada (oops sorry maybe thats just me). It is a little pricy at $15 a bottle but in comparison to a trip to Tahiti it is a little more in my price range. 
10. Burts Bees Lipbalm - my number one, never leave home without it, use it everyday (& night), save the best for last product. This is the best lipbalm ever made!!!!!! EVER EVER EVER. I seriously think I have about 5 of them floating around my house, purse, at work!!! I swear my this product. If I was told that I could only take one beauty item with me on a deserted island I would take this.
